ARLIS provides access to nearly 50 databases relating to Alaska’s natural and cultural resources. Click on each database title to learn more and access the database directly, or, click the links below to search all databases and journals using our EBSCO Discovery Service interface.
This page includes several commercial databases, marked with an asterisk (*), which are not available outside the ARLIS reading room except to ARLIS Founders. For non-Founder visitors to the ARLIS website, ScienceDirect and BioOne permit free access to the citation and abstract level and limited numbers of freely available articles.
ARLIS extends database access services to all in-person library users, including full search capabilities and PDF downloads.

Search Academic Search PremierAlaska Department of Fish and Game historical and current fisheries publication series are accessible in full-text format, including publications of 5 Divisions: Sport Fish, Commercial Fisheries, Habitat, Subsistence, and the former FRED Division. Contact ARLIS if sought publications are not accessible.
Search ADF&G Fisheries Publication DatabaseAlaska Department of Fish and Game historical and current Division of Wildlife Conservation publications are available in full-text format. Most journal article citations are limited to DOI links to preserve copyright. ARLIS provides journal articles in full to Founders upon request.

Search Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts (ASFA)ADA is a digital educational service that provides access to scientific research publications, research projects derived from license and permit information, K–12 educational resources, data management resources for researchers, virtual exhibits, and the Arctic Institute of North America’s online archives and special collections.
ADA expands upon the former ASTIS database which was already well-regarded by Arctic researchers as an online information resource and publications database for the Government of Canada’s Northern Contaminants Program and the Beaufort Regional Environmental Assessment, the ArcticNet Network of Centres of Excellence Canada program, and the Canadian International Polar Year program.
Search Arctic Discovery and Access (ADA)79,000 records for publications and projects about northern Canada. ASTIS covers the three territories, the northern parts of seven provinces and the adjacent marine areas. ASTIS records contain abstracts, detailed subject and geographic indexing terms, and links to 21,000 publications that are available online.
