520 |a This report is a comprehensive discussion of the results of the Salmon Escapement Study conducted between 2012 and 2014. It describes the methods and results of the study, and explains how all study objectives have been met. With this report, Alaska Energy Authority has completed the field work, data collection and analysis, and reporting for this study. The objectives of this study were to radio-tag and track adults of five species of Pacific salmon from the lower to upper Susitna River, to characterize their migratory behavior and spawning behavior, to use sonar in turbid waters, to compare historical and current data, to count adult chinook salmon spawning, to collect tissue samples, and to estimate the salmon escapement of the Susitna River. The study area encompassed the Susitna River from its mouth at the Cook Inlet upstream to the confluence of the Oshetna River.
