Summary:Between Feb. 15 and Apr. 20, 1985, a total of 4545 Alaska residents were surveyed by telephone and by face-to-face interviews on their hunting, fishing, and recreational activities. The study's target population included much of Southcentral and Interior Alaska. The purpose of the survey is to estimate the number of households engaging in resource use activities in areas potentially affected by the Susitna Hydroelectric Project, to estimate the dollar value of this use, to describe the qualities of the resource use areas, and to present data on economic circumstances of Alaska resident resource users as a means of describing the vaule of these activities.
