Glacier mass balances and runoff in the upper Susitna and Maclaren river basins, 1981-1983 /

Mass balance measurements have been made on the major glaciers at the headwaters of the Susitna and Maclaren rivers during 1981, 1982, and 1983. The primary purpose of the work has been to estimate the amount of water originating from this 790 km² glacierized area in connection with the development...

Description
Summary:Mass balance measurements have been made on the major glaciers at the headwaters of the Susitna and Maclaren rivers during 1981, 1982, and 1983. The primary purpose of the work has been to estimate the amount of water originating from this 790 km² glacierized area in connection with the development of water forecast models for the proposed Susitna hydroelectric project. The study has been at the reconnaissance level, since only one measurement stake per 50 km² has been monitored.
