Summary: | On December 14, 2016 the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission submitted an additional 58 pages of questions and comments to the sponsors of the Alaska LNG Project. These comments on the second round of resource reports supplement the previous 362 pages (see the Update dated November 15, 2016 about the first 266 pages of comments that FERC submitted and the Update dated November 22, 2016 about the additional 96 pages). This project is transitioning from a gas-producer-led partnership to a state-led effort managed by the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation. Comments cover subsistence harvests, permafrost, the Nikiski marine terminal capacity to perform during adverse conditions, and various safety concerns. Work performed by ERM, the project's consulting firm that assists with preparing the environmental impact statement, is on hold. |
