Description
Summary:Construction and operation of the proposed Susitna-Watana Hydroelectric Project may affect furbearers. This study is being conducted for evaluating potential Project-related effects and identifying appropriate mitigation. The goal is to provide current information on the abundance and habitat use of four species of terrestrial furbearers (coyote, red fox, lynx, and marten) in the study area, which encompasses a 10-km. (6.2 mile) buffer around the dam, dam facilities, inundation zone, and access and electrical transmission corridors. This document is a comprehensive discussion of the methods and results of the study since the beginning of the study program in 2012 and through the end of 2014, and represents the completion report.
