Summary: | An interagency Water Summit (sponsored by Alaska Department of Natural Resources and Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation) was held in Juneau on January 30, 1992 to discuss major water issues facing Alaska. That Summit established the Water Management Council (co-chaired by representatives of those two departments and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game). That council created the Interagency Water Data Issues Group, which met for an all day work session on March 19, 1992 to discuss the state's most urgent or strategic water data issues. This report summarizes the objectives and findings of the Water Data Issues Group at the work session. In addition to the Work Session report, this document includes memoranda, a letter, comments, meeting agenda, and reports from other organizations. |
