500 |a This documentary film was instrumental in promoting public awareness of the Yellowstone River and in ultimately securing water reservations in the name of fish and wildlife that will preserve the river's instream flow. The river had been threatened with the prospect of water diversion and plans for a dam near Livingston, so in order to promote a plea to protect the river, the Montana Department of Fish and Game released this film and a special issue of "Montana outdoors" (vol. 8, no. 6) devoted to the Yellowstone River. Articles about this film were published in "Montana outdoors": Vol. 8, no. 6 (Sept./Oct.), page 12, and: Vol. 15, no. 3 (May/June 1984), page 12.
510 3 |a Alaska Resources Library and Information Services has assigned number "APA 4147 video" to this videorecording for the Susitna Hydroelectric Project collection. A request was made to include this film as part of that collection because of the relevancy of proposed power development on the Yellowstone River and of water level effects on river ecology to proposed power development on the Susitna River.
510 3 |a Alaska Resources Library and Information Services has assigned number "APA 4147 suppl." to the supplemental information for the Susitna Hydroelectric Project collection. The supplemental information is a collection of articles about the original film published in "Montana outdoors."
