Summary:The goal of the study is to provide Project-specific habitat evaluation information for birds, mammals, and amphibians to facilitate quantitative assessments of the impacts on wildlife habitats from development of the proposed Susitna-Watana Hydroelectric Project. The study area is identical to the area for the wildlife habitat study (Section 11.5) plus the area downstream of the proposed dam for riparian wildlife habitats (Section 11.6); that encompasses a 4-mile buffer zone surrounding proposed reservoir impoundment zone, facilities, powerhouse, access routes, and transmission lines in addition to the riperian zone from Gold Creek to River Mile 75 (approximately latitude N 62°) comprising the width of the flood plain.
