Summary: | The study objectives for the 2012 Recreation and Aesthetics Program focus on the identification, collection, and synthesis of recreation and aesthetic resource information for planning of the Susitna-Watana Hydroelectric Project. Information will also be used to guide Project design and mitigation of construction, operation and maintenance activities to minimize effects in the study area (the upper Susitna River basin). Coordination across social resources (e.g. cultural, subsistence, and socioeconomic) from the study's outset is an essential component of the Program. Work for 2012 will concentrate on data collection and an evaluation of the comprehensiveness and applicability of existing data. |
