Summary:This report provides a preliminary assessment of three alternative rail and road access routes presently under consideration for the Susitna-Watana Hydroelectric Project to be used during construction and for the operational life of the dam, and evaluates proposed airport locations for the support of construction. The intent is to provide a reconnaissance-level study based on engineering, scientific and environmental information. Additional information regarding environmental and other issues related to the routes will be developed later as part of the National Environmental Policy Act process.
