Instream temperature modeling and fishery impact assessment for a proprosed large scale Alaska hydroelectric project /

A simulation model, SNTEMP or Stream Network Temperature Simulation Model, was designed to examine temperature-related effects on fishes that could be caused by the proposed hydroelectric dams on the Susitna River. Effects of the Susitna reservoir on fishery resources is analyzed in one-dam and two-...

520 |a A simulation model, SNTEMP or Stream Network Temperature Simulation Model, was designed to examine temperature-related effects on fishes that could be caused by the proposed hydroelectric dams on the Susitna River. Effects of the Susitna reservoir on fishery resources is analyzed in one-dam and two-dam scenarios. Thermal preferences and tolerance criteria were developed for the five Pacific salmon species in the Susitna River, and the predictions from SNTEMP are compared to the various life phase temperature criteria.
