Oryctolagus cuniculus
The European (or domestic) rabbit was successfully introduced to Umnak, Rabbit, and Hog islands in the Aleutian Archipelago, and to Middleton Island in the Gulf of Alaska. The Umnak release occurred about 1930 near Nikolski, and rabbits from Umnak were transplanted to Rabbit Island about 1940. The time of the release on Hog Island (near Amuknak Island) is unknown. Three females and a male were released on Middleton Island in 1954 (O'Farrell 1965). (Aleutian information from Burris and McKnight 1973.)
