General Characteristics

• Postorbital process broad and projecting at nearly
  right angles to the longitudinal axis of the skull
• Compared to M. broweri:
  • Angular process relatively long, extending beyond the articular process
  • Rostrum relatively short
  • Postorbital width relatively less
  • Tympanic bulla length relatively less
  • Zygomatic arches diverge posteriorally only slowly if at all
  • Elevation of occiput viewed in profile higher
• Fur harsh, not soft
