Summary: The U.S. Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service prepared this supplemental environmental impact statement to inform the implementation of an oil and gas leasing program on the Coastal Plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in accordance with Public Law (PL) 115-97, Section 20001(c)(1) which requires the Bureau to hold at least 2 sales of at least 400,000 acres each by December 22, 2024. The report considers both the direct and indirect environmental impacts of on-the-ground oil and gas activities, including seismic and drilling exploration, development, and transportation of oil and gas in and from the Coastal Plain. The SEIS considers the impact of four action alternatives and identifies Alternative D2 as the preferred alternative.
