Approved by the ARLIS Founders Board on June 18, 2003
Founders:
ARLIS reference staff performs searches in fee-for-access database services, such as Dialog and LexisNexis, as a service to its founding agency patrons. Search costs are kept to a reasonable amount as defined by the ARLIS management team. Separate accounts may be established to accommodate requests for more extensive and, therefore, more expensive searches.
Non-Founders:
ARLIS may conduct searches in fee-for-access database services at the reference librarian’s discretion, as a courtesy to other libraries, staff of non-founding agencies, consultants, or members of the general public. These searches will generally be brief and inexpensive.
