More about the Susitna Doc Finder

The Susitna Doc Finder is a comprehensive catalog of documents that have resulted from every phase of hydroelectric project proposed for the Susitna River watershed. These are categorized as the historic (mainly 1970s/80s and earlier) Susitna Hydroelectric Project (SuHydro Project), as well as those documents continually being produced since 2010 under the current Susitna-Watana Hydroelectric Project (SuWa Project).

Parking enforcement changes

The last day of parking fee enforcement for UAA Spring Semester was Thursday, April 21st. UAA Summer Semester parking enforcement begins Monday, May 16th at 7:30 am. Parking codes or hang tags should not be used from Friday, April 22nd through Sunday, May 15th.

Welcome to the American Water Resources Association (AWRA) Spring Specialty Conference being held at the Anchorage Sheraton, April 25-27.

Alaska Resources Library & Information Services (ARLIS) has a comprehensive collection of Alaska resource materials, including those related to the conference theme of Water, Energy, Environment. Collections that may be of interest to water professionals for current or future research include:

•   The late Don Tennant’s library of instream flow documentation that traces the nationwide evolution of methodologies and their legal and technical framework.
•   Records of the Interagency Hydrology Committee for Alaska (IHCA) dating from the 1970s onward.
•   Photos and records of the BLM Wild and Scenic Rivers, including all candidate rivers.
•   Ice records from Alaskan villages statewide dating from statehood.
•   The imminent launch of the completely revamped Susitna Doc Finder, a robust catalog of all current and historic hydroelectric project reports related to the Susitna basin.

Collection Highlights

Wild and Scenic Rivers

Multi-agency collection of original reports and photos about selection of rivers for the Wild and Scenic River System. Includes candidate rivers as well as those selected.

Alaska Department of Fish & Game, Annual Management Reports

Reports of catch, escapement, economic factors, and fishery management policies for each regional commercial fishery, 1959-. The reports are shelved by geographic region from east to west across Alaska and by year within geographic region.
